mode: defrosting

Surprisingly, this month has been moving slowly for me compared to past years where I felt rushed having to work on taxes while also finalizing new designs for the year. It’s been cold (obviously not as cold as the states affected by the historical snow storm) and dreary. Some days, the sun will finally peak out while other days, it stays gray and boring all day long. I long for the warmer days ahead.

Sadly, this country continues to be off its rockers. Trying to make art and running a business feels pointless sometimes. I’m at a loss on what to draw, what to make. It feels sucky – for a lack of a better word – because I do want to be draw again. I do want to create again. But alas, the process cannot be forced. Hence, defrosting mode. Still a little frozen, so until then, I’ll spend my time on other things like cooking with my family, cozying up to fun movie, and focusing on my workouts (can’t believe I lost ~10lbs since the start of my health & fitness journey last summer!).

Also, in a few days, I’ll be 33. While it’s been hard to feel hyped up and celebratory about turning a year older with everything going on in this country, I’m looking forward to a new chapter. It’s hard to see it now, but I feel like it’ll be a better year. I feel like anything can happen (more good than bad please!) and that the sky’s the limit. Overall, I’m praying for a better, safer, fun, creative, and more harmonious year not just myself, but for everyone in the world 🙏🏼
